Thank you, well done! :-) Precious peacefulness šŸ™šŸ™

So much good here. šŸ‘ Thank goodness for this honesty. Iā€™m nodding in agreement as a long time teacher. (Plus having kiddos FYI.)

In my area we have a shortage of teachers, so thereā€™s that added pressure of having to say ā€œNoā€, which Iā€™ve learned the hard way!

(Yet still say yes more than practical.)

My yoga mentor tells me to think with my head, feel with my heart. Thus, think of my teaching as a business ā€œfor profitā€ and my practice as a business of ā€œpersonal restorationā€. She does her life with so much more discipline than me.

And much more profitably!

I let attachments to long-time students, studio manager relationships and etc. take precidence over following my business plan. (The phrase business plan used with big quotation fingers.)

Finding this online community has been a HAPPY BOON!

Thank you! :-)

Building upon Amalā€™s commentā€¦and I understand, Juan, that you are talking about yoga in a traditional way and not the contemporary way that incorporates various styles developed primarily in the West within our last century or soā€¦ but nevertheless I, too, would love to see an entire section set aside on this platform specifically for Iyengar, similar to how we do Pilates and Chanting and Hatha, etc. Yes, Iyengar is contemporary Yoga, and it holds a stellar position in the spreading of yogas popularity in the UK and US, but it is also engineered quiet uniquely today, especially with the laddered wall, the bindings and other elements of equipment.

Also, we all owe a debt of gratitude to Geeta Iyengar (God rest her soul) who, after her fatherā€™s death, convinced the United Nations to dedicate a World Yoga Day in June.

With Geetaā€™s passing, and a serious decline of access to Iyengar studios and trainers, one hopes this fabulous style of yoga will continue to survive and inspire practitioners worldwide.

Awareness might be the best next step for our community.

Iā€™m in need of serious shoulder care and preventative awareness as Iā€™m often in the sand trap or woods (golf analogy) with my shoulder impingements. Left, then right, the sneakily painful plaguing moves around like a tumbleweed.

So, how do I join (here it is last dayā€¦ better late than never!)

Iā€™m gonna search On-Demand videos. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž

I hope everyone feels a beautiful combination of awakened engaged invigoration and serene relaxed energy. Iā€™m so very well aligned now, breathing clear and strong! What a delightful morning start..

Thank you, Juan for the advice and awareness tips that guided me so well. Your vocal quality is smooth and crisp without being the least bit schrill, fuzzy or garbled. šŸ‘
