Hi Wendy, it really depends on the pain, if it is sharp or dull and if there is a previous injury. I sometimes get backpain from too much exercise so then I find that releasing the fascia from the glutes, and lower back muscles help. I usually roll my back and glutes on a small hard therapy ball and that helps to release tightness and tension. Also doing stretches for the hips like pigeon pose or reclined thread the kneedle helps or a yin yoga practice that focuses on the hips!!! Maybe try any of these classes to see if it helps! https://youryogaflowstudio.com/programs/happy-hips-yin or https://youryogaflowstudio.com/programs/45-min-yin-for-hips-all-levels or https://youryogaflowstudio.com/programs/yin-yoga-at-the-wall
