As the Thanksgiving weekend approaches in Canada, I wanted to take a moment for us all to reflect on the importance of gratitude and self-care in our journey as yoga practitioners.
This time of year is not only about turkey feasts and fun with family and friends, but it's also an opportunity for us to tap into the true spirit of thanks and appreciation for what yoga brings into our lives. So, let's pause, breathe, and share our thoughts on how this beautiful practice has influenced our overall wellness.
What are you most grateful for when it comes to your yoga journey? Has yoga helped transform your health, both physically and mentally? Have any particular teachings or mantras had a significant impact on your daily life outside the mat?
The intention behind this conversation is to create a space where we can collectively celebrate the power of yoga in cultivating calmness, inspiration, relaxation, motivation, and encouragement within ourselves.
Feel free to share your personal reflections, stories of growth, or any tips you've learned along the way that have enhanced your practice as either a yoga student or a teacher. We all have something unique to contribute!
Let's use this thread as an uplifting reminder of why we choose to embrace yoga in our lives while fostering connection with fellow practitioners who understand its profound effects.

Hey everyone! It's great to have some new faces in our CommUNITY yoga practitioners, wellness enthusiasts, and yoga teachers and students.
Let's welcome these lovely souls by sharing some calming and inspiring moments... Post a photo or simply describe how your yoga practice nurtures your overall health and well-being.
Let's continue uplifting each other with our stories of growth, encouragement, and relaxation.
Take this opportunity to connect with others who share the same passion for holistic wellness and ignite others' motivation through your own experiences! Keep spreading positive vibes throughout our amazing community!
I'll start... If I miss a few days of practice, I feel it! In every corner of my being. My body craves the healing and the positive energy. When I don't practice, even a simple Savasana, my body lets me know.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, observed in Canada, serves as an important reminder and opportunity for all Canadians to reflect upon and acknowledge the painful history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous communities. This day emphasizes the importance of truth-telling, listening, and learning in the ongoing journey towards reconciliation. Here's how the day is recognized today:
1. Awareness and Education: Many Canadians take the time to educate themselves about the history of residential schools and their lasting effects on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. Schools, workplaces, and community groups often host events, workshops, or discussions that focus on this topic.
2. Ceremonies and Vigils: Commemorative events, such as ceremonies or vigils, take place across the country. These events often involve moments of silence, readings of the names of children who died in these schools, and the participation of Indigenous leaders, elders, and community members.
3. Orange Shirt Day: Coinciding with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is Orange Shirt Day. Canadians are encouraged to wear orange shirts to honour residential school survivors and to remember those who never made it home. The initiative started to commemorate the story of Phyllis Webstad, who had her new orange shirt taken away on her first day at a residential school.
4. Listening to Indigenous Voices: Many Indigenous communities share their stories, songs, and dances on this day. Listening to these voices helps Canadians understand the experiences of Indigenous peoples and the impacts of colonization.
5. Reflection and Commitment: This day is also a time for personal reflection. Canadians can think about their roles in the process of reconciliation and consider ways to support Indigenous rights and communities moving forward.
6. Public Acknowledgements: Land acknowledgements and public statements from organizations, institutions, and government bodies are common, as they recognize the importance of the day and reaffirm their commitment to reconciliation.
It's essential to note that while the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation serves as a specific time to focus on these issues, the work towards true reconciliation is ongoing and requires a sustained, collective effort.

Happy Weekend to all our amazing CommUNITY members out there!
As we step into the weekend, let's take a moment to find our zen and wholeheartedly embrace this opportunity to feel calm, inspired, and relaxed. It's time to unleash your inner yogi and let your practice ignite your spirit.
Imagine rolling out your yoga mat in the peaceful space of your own home, where you can immerse yourself in the uplifting energy of like-minded individuals. Connect with others who share your love for wellness, health, and, of course, yoga!
Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for years, finding your zen is essential in nurturing both the body and mind. In moments of stillness on your mat, the practice encourages reflection and self-discovery. Take a deep breath, inhale positivity, and exhale any tension or stress that may be weighing you down. Let go of any distractions from the week behind us as we refocus our attention on creating balance within ourselves.
Let's inspire one another in this wonderful journey by sharing our most calming poses or favourite quotes that motivate us to keep going even during challenging times. Help someone else discover their inner strength by encouraging them during their practice or providing tips on how to achieve a deeper level of relaxation.
Remember that finding your zen doesn't have to be limited only to these two magical days - it can be cultivated all week long! Each day brings fresh opportunities for growth and mindfulness. Let this post serve as an invitation for self-reflection as we embark on a weekend filled with tranquil vibes and profound serenity.
